It’s an issue which prompted Sir David Attenborough to warn the future of humanity itself was at stake: plastic waste clogging up the oceans and killing wildlife.

Sir David made the call to action after heartbreaking scenes in his series Blue Planet Two.

Now TV presenter Ben Fogle says urgent action needs to be taken to address the issue.
