Supermarkets are to be asked to make one aisle in each store plastic-free to reduce the amount of packaging that ends up in the sea.
The marine conservation charity Plastic Oceans Foundation will urge large supermarket chains to sell more food in biodegradable packaging.The campaign, A Plastic Free Aisle, is being launched in the next few weeks, while its film A Plastic Ocean will highlight the scale of plastic pollution.
